---- This is no way, shape, or form is complete. There are hundreds of thousands of albums, artists, and songs that have touched me. These are just the ones that caused huge catalytic changes in my life and those that have remained heavy on the rotation throughout the years.------
- Nirvana "Nevermind" - Yes, I was a late bloomer. Didn't get into the grunge scene until long looong after it died. Was your stereotypical teenaged angsty child.
- Garbage "Garbage" - Unhealthy highschool obsession. Waited in line for 8 hours.
- Alana Davis "Blame It On Me" - Alana was a blip on the popular music scene. I always knew I liked her but didn't get the album until my high-class ex boyfriend stole it from someone's car.
- Tori Amos "From the Choirgirl Hotel" - Needs no explanation.
- Alanis Morisette "Jagged Little Pill" - Hello, rite of passage
- Beth Orton "Central Reservation" - One of the albums I ripped from my father's extensive and amazing collection (it's genetic.)
- Bon Iver "For Emma, Forever Ago" - far and wide, above and beyond, without a doubt - the SINGLE MOST epic album in my life the last few years. Brought to my attention by he who will remain nameless. There really are no words for the way Justin Vernon moves me.
- Citizen Cope - "The Clarence Greenwood Recordings"
- David Gray "White Ladder" - Another discovery I owe to my dad.
- David Gray "Draw the Line" - Turned me into Jolie Holland. The best album he produced since White Ladder.
- Fiona Apple "Tidal"
- Florence & the Machine "Lungs" - From Kevin. Brought back the femme vocals that I have gotten away from in recent years. Phenominal.
- JJ "JJ no 2" - Opened for the XX last April. Had me standing in the middle of the showbox dumbfounded.
- Jolie Holland "Escondida" - Backup vocals for David Gray, with a majorly impressive resume all on her own. Saw her at the triple door with Haley - organic.
- Joshua Radin "We Were Here" - Cameron.
- Passion Pit "Manners" (and) Phoenix "Alphabetical" - Kicked off my electropop obsession.
- Sarah McLaughlan "Mirrorball" - another rite of passage disc.
- The Spill Canvas "Sunsets and Car Crashes" - Not really sure how to describe this one. Listened to it for basically 2 years straight in college.
- The XX "XX" - Another collaborative discovery - multiple people suggesting it to me all at once.
- Yeasayer "All Hour Symbols" AND "Odd Blood" - Can't. Stop. Listening. Some of the most artistic, insane, and AMAZING sounds I have heard in a long, long time.
Rachel Yamagata "worn me down"
Oren Lavie "her morning elegance"
Modest Mouse "float on"
Death cab "cath"
Bon Iver "skinny love"
The Verve "bittersweet symphony"
Marc Cohen "walking in memphis"
Peter Gabriel "in your eyes"
